Salisbury Magna Carta Theft

Foiled by William Jobsworth

A foolish Cantabrian

man

Cooked up a ludicrous

plan

To pinch a Magna Carta

It was a non-starter

And his scheme quickly

Went down the pan.

And when the beak sent

the fool down

He fixed the convict with

a frown

Saying: ‘You stupid yokel

you could’ve shopped

local, they’ve got one

in Faversham town’!
