FAVERSHAM’S FIRST DEATH CAFÉ

Death Cafés happen across the world. The idea of Jon Underwood and Sue Barksky Reid (www.deathcafe.com), they are free, always include tea and cake and give people the opportunity to talk freely about the subject. Their aim is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’.

It’s a place to discuss loved ones dying, our own death, our funeral wishes, feeling ill-prepared for the dying process, with people describing the experience as “comforting”, “open”, “accepting”, “informative”, “thoughtful”, “respectful”, “liberating” and “welcoming”.

The next Faversham death café will be on Sunday 16 February from 2pm to 4pm at the Physic Garden.

All are welcome and more information is available at: http://www.ferncounselling.space/deathcafe
